Busy Beauties Sneak Peek

Good Morning! I have a sneak peek for you of one of the newest digis from Busy Beauties. The new images will be available in the boutique on December 3rd, which is just around the corner! The image I am featuring today is Victorian Beauty. She is just perfect this time of year to create beautiful Christmas cards and any other time of the year for those wonderful people in your life who love the vintage/victorian era... LIKE ME! {sorry for shouting} I colored her with copics and accented her dress with turquoise stickles to bring in the holiday feeling. She is mounted on a holly flocked dp. My images are scanned since I was a total doofus and forgot to charge my camera batteries so it is not as obvious that my bells are on dimensionals and sparkled up with diamond stickles after being colored with copics. My sentiment on the interior of the card is from Cloud Nine Designs and the Merry Christmas is from Hero Arts, both are stamped in rhubarb stalk ink.

Vintage Christmas Card

Hello! I am certain a lot of you thought I disappeared in blogland, never to return since it has been quite a while since I last posted a card. Well, my mojo decided to go to warmer and more relaxing climates and left me high & dry! I came up with this card based off of a sketch from StampTV and used the stained glass technique on my main image. I will have to say that copics don't give as much rich color on vellum as on regular cardstock, but I think it is still pretty good. I used my November 2008 CDS som, Deer Wishes, for the very first time. I wanted to give a real Christmas feel to the card so I added some polar white flower soft for the deer to walk on and the cardinal to sit on the mail box in. My papers are a vintage style that has been in my stash for what seems forever. For a kick of brighter colors, I used a flocked dp from Hobby Lobby and a jeweled brad in a brighter red.

The interior of the card is the same dp as the ornaments on the front. I cut my sentiment panel and poinsettias from the leftover piece of American Crafts cardstock card base. I swiped memento rhubarb stalk ink on all three to tone down the cream so it would blend better with the dp. My sentiment is from a cloud 9 design set and I tried to bling it up a bit with some gold encore ink sponged on the sentiment panel and poinsettias.

Enjoy and TFL~!

S2G Twisted Thursday - Pumpkins!

This is the first chance I have had to join in the fun at the S2G challenge blog. Seems there have been a miriad of other things taking priority that have not allowed time for me to play. Yay for me! It also helps that the mojo is flowing a bit more than in the past few weeks. Ok, enough of my rambling about my personal stuff... on to the card. As I was flipping through my mat stacks to find paper for another card, the background paper on this one jumped out at me because it reminded me of pumpkins, so I pulled it out and built my card around it. I decided to use ribbon to create the illusion of 4 separate pieces of card stock. My pumpkin and sentiment are for the October digi set from Shirley's 2 Girls. The pumpkin is colored with prismas and blended with oms. The circle background for the image is a wheat pattern. Guess you could say this card is pretty CAS, but it seems to work.

Enjoy & TFL~!
